GIS Project Assistant

GIS Intern

  • Wrote Python scripts to assist City staff with process automation and data management, saving the city over $5K/year in ArcGIS Online credits.
  • Assisted the Elections Committee with updating the Polling Locations Map and District Maps (separate maps for State Rep, Governor's Council, State Senate, U.S. Congressional, City Wards, and Precincts), and Polling Place Notification Cards.
  • Worked to update the City's GIS Basemap from a Raster style to a Vector style.
  • Engaged with City staff across departments to ensure GIS layers stayed up to date in the SDE database.
  • Worked to bring the City's 3D model into VR using Unreal Engine and Esri's CityEngine.
  • Assisted in maintaining and creating web maps using ArcGIS Online.
  • Developed an application using the ArcGIS JS API to create a historical time-slider map for the city's aerial imagery.

Instrumentation Technician I

Geocomp Corporation / Acton, MA

  • Set up and maintained Geocomp's Isite Central service for automated monitoring of geotechnical instrumentation such as piezometers, inclinometers, tiltmeters, and total stations.
  • Installed and maintained geotechnical instrumentation at field locations including railroads, schools, and tunnels for clients such as Amtrak, Keolis, the MBTA, and Rolls Royce Naval Marine, Inc.
  • Produced weekly reporting for clients, including charts of instrumentation readings.
  • Assisted geotechnical professional engineers extracting information from drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D, producing plan and cross-sectional views for the Tennessee Valley Authority's seismic readiness reports to the U.S. EPA and the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation.
